Help! I have a feral/community cats/kittens at my home/work. I found a cat/kitten or I need to rehome a cat/kitten.
JVC provides resources for individuals looking to help cats/kittens, however, we are unable to help directly in most situations. We receive 50-100 calls per week with individuals looking for help. JVC looks to these individuals to help the situation by trapping, transporting, fostering, etc. in exchange for borrowing trapping equipment, payment for spay/neutering/vaccines, and from time to time support for adoption of kittens. Even with these caveats many times we need to refer people to other rescues. Luckily, there are many available in the area that may have room or help more directly. How can I adopt a feline friend from JVC?
We facilitate adoption by carefully matching socialized cats with suitable forever families. Our process includes a compassionate vetting phase to ensure a harmonious environment for both the cat and the guardian. Please complete an application which can be found on our website and fax to us.
What activities do you support with donated funds?
JVC, through its volunteer, network and the community, identifies cats and kittens in crisis. JVC's work helps to control cat colonies through TNR activities and supporting the colony with critical food and shelter. We pay for all medical care, equipment and food. Our volunteers do the rest. Not a day goes by without our rescue being asked to step in to help stray, abandoned, abused, or neglected cats. JVC will financially support the remediation activity providing guidance, support, food, and supplies. What we ask of you, is a willingness to volunteer as part of the remediation activity by helping monitor, trap, and foster if required.
How do you promote humane feline management?
We advocate for the humane management of the feline population through support for Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) initiatives and by providing educational resources to community caretakers.
Can I support the mission through volunteering?
Absolutely. We rely on compassionate volunteers and foster homes to provide a nurturing sanctuary for cats in transition, as well as assistance with administrative and outreach efforts. You will find a volunteer application on our website
